"Only 1"

Vision, Goal, Strategy, Tactics & Event Description

Presented by: Bishop Effraim Tendoro and Pastor Rich Young

Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches and the Pure Works Foundation

Bishop Ef_Head_ShotRich Young

Bishop Ef      Pastor Rich

Vision: to see volunteer humanitarian efforts and high-yield evangelism that provides the personal one-on-one relationship means for successfully retaining valid church growth of the PCEC participant churches.  Matthew 28:18-20; John 4:35-29; Matthew 13:8 & 23

Goal: To see more than 1,000 indigent medical patients and twenty percent (20%) or more validated church growth in three or more participating PCEC churches in the term of the project.

Strategy: The "Only 1" strategy is to enroll any believer member of their respective church that they are both willing and able to bring a non-believer, "Only 1," or non-Christian, to an event that will effectively demonstrate the love of God and present the gospel in a manner that will intrigue the non-believer and provide them ample opportunity for their decision for Christ. In so doing, the believer member must also agree that the non-beliver they bring qualifies for discipleship and probable church growth should they make a decision for Christ. This is primarily achieved by knowing that the non-believer geographically resides in the same proximity of the sponsoring believer who is bringing them to the event, or in close proximity to the church where they would be discipled should they make a decision for Christ.

Tactics: the commitment; the training; the qualifying; the invitation; the decision, the discipleship; the accountability report.
    1. Commitment - must be requested by the pastor of his congregation of believers to invite, "Only 1";
    2. Training - believers must be trained for mentorship in seven (7) basic doctrines of faith by pastor;
    3. Qualifying - the non-believer (Only 1) must be someone the believer has a personal relationship, i.e., family member, work associate, fellow student, and must live in close proxmity to the church of the sponsoring beliver and pastor;
    4. Invitation - must be made with a commitment from the non-believer (Only 1) to attend the event;
    5. Decision - the believer must be responsible for accompanying the non-believer (Only 1) to and from the event and monitor the decision of the non-believer;
    6. Discipleship - the believer must be responsible to their pastor to help mentor and disciple the new believer (Only 1) as directed by the pastor;
    7. Accountbility Report - the pastor must account as to those who made a decsion for Christ (however many the total number of his own church believers succeeded at bringing) to the event, and follow up three months later after the event with the status of their discipleship to PCEC.

It should be noted that in addition to the "high-yield" evangelism thrust described above, these events will be augmented by medical and dental brigades in three locations. The medicine for this mission has been provided primarily through gifts of www.KingswayCharities.org. These brigades are incredibly successful for evangelism, healing, comfort, renewed dedication and more, not to mention the "Good Samaritan" needs of those served. The medicine is being provided by Pure Works partners in the United States, MAP International and King's Benovolent Fund.

Further, pastors and team members from the US will be visiting numerous churches throughout Manila to encourage, share, and pray for Pilipino pastors and staff.

Event Description

"Only 1" Festival Drama and Concert - Approximately two (2) hours of concert style music by US based band, split approximately three-quarters (3/4) of the way through with one song that includes a skit performed by a Pilipino drama team. The drama team will perform the drama to the song, Everything, by Jason Wade. This drama can be seen and the drama team will duplicate to the best of their ability the drama skit shown on YouTube at: Lifehouse Everything. Following the skit, the gospel and a decision for Christ invitation will be given for the non-believers. Those believers present will monitor and aid in the decision making process of the non-believer and determine if they indeed made a prayerful decision for Christ.

What an awesome time of ministry, teaching and fellowship we had on Saturday. The caliber of people you brought in to share with us were "top notch"; and I'm not just referring to their talent, but most importantly their heart to serve and pour into the lives of others. I know all were blessed personally as well as their congregations are going to be blessed as the insights and new understandings gained are taken back to their respective places of worship.

Most importanly I believe San Francisco (and the Bay Area) will be changed, for the better, because of the "Spirit" anointed and blessed worship released over our city that evening.  Thank-you, Rich; keep up the good work (ministry)!

PS: Your attention to detail and keeping us on schedule through a packed day without quenching the Spirit...wow! Job well done! Let me know when you do the next "Who Am I?" locally so I can get more of our team there to receive the blessing.

#1 – My favorite thing about this gathering was the heart of the people involved.  While Rich did an incredible job organizing this as an event, the day came alive as people from many different gatherings of believers came together to seek the heart of God.  There was unity among the believers and it was a powerful thing!  Yeah God!

#2 – I was very satisfied with the event.  I think next time we will learn to better promote the night of worship so we can have more people there but even with the few it was very powerful. Thank you so much for all of your hard work and for your heart to serve our movement.  We are blessed by you and I believe God is going to move through this concept of providing training for churches in amazing ways.

#3 – Feel free to use the things I have said to share as you promote future events like this.  If you need something written let me know and Ill do my best to get it to you.  Also – feel free to invite our worship people to any event you are doing!  I know they would be honored to be invited and may be able to help you if they are available!

Thank again for a great time Rich; great job!

I think this concept is very good and healthy; especially on a small group level. I liked the variety of presenters and topics dealing with practical issues like soundsystems and team practices, your insistence on timeliness for the sessions (even your 5 minute warning signs!), and the interactiveness of the Q & A sessions.  I also really like that you're reaching out to the small churches since most of our churches are under 100 and most of which have very few skilled musicians. You yourself are helping many of these churches by going and helping them on Sundays, and I hear you incorporate training them during the week for the teams. That's good stuff man.

Keep me in the loop for future events.

Jerry and I had such a wonderful time with you and everyone at the worship seminar and celebration! We met such amazing worshippers and feel like we have so many new friends in Northern California. Thank you for including us and giving us the opportunity to be with you! We are so touched by the work your are doing for churches and all of the gifts you are giving away; you have an amazing heart! Let us know if we can join with you again in the future. You blessed us so much!!

This page is dedicated to Pastors considering participation in a collaborative, evangelical and discipleship church effort. The effort includes medical and dental brigades coordinated by the Philippine Relief and Development Services and Pure Works. The outreach theme is "Only1". The outreach and subsequent discipleship retention promotes natural church growth from within, built and dependent upon many one-on-one personal relationships of church members.

The evening celebration was one of the best that I've participated in for quite a long time. Thank you for the wonderful seminar and celebration. Our team was truly blessed by it. God bless you.

"We thouroughly enjoyed the seminar and believe everthing came off very well. The speakers were informative, but we do believe there could have been fewer speakers allowing for more time for the speakers. The finale celebration was grand and the sound was good. We look forward to the next event; please keep us informed."
